ACC PROFESSIONAL SUPERVISION

"The health and wellbeing of our pastors is of paramount importance to us. If we want to continue to grow and thrive in ministry and all that God has called us to do, it is important that we give attention to our own health and wellbeing.

One of the ways that we can do this, is by engaging with professional supervision. Professional supervision provides support and professional development for pastors, chaplains and leaders. It is a confidential space for us to reflect and discuss ministry and to learn and to develop as leaders."

UPDATES IN CODE OF CONDUCT

The ACC recently updated the Ministerial Code of Conduct, recognising the importance of Professional Supervision, split into two key factors; development and supervision.

  • Development: ACC Ministers are encouraged to undertake ongoing professional development, through a variety of means, such as education, professional supervision, peer support and/or mentoring.

  • Supervision: To serve well and maintain personal and professional health amidst difficult and complex pastoral situations, ACC Ministers are strongly encouraged to engage in a professional supervision session on a regular basis.

We are encouraging all our pastors to engage with Professional Supervision. Below are some helpful links to help you choose a supervisor.

If you would like to further discuss your best supervision pathway, please reach out to Grant Buchanan. Grant has extensive experience in Professional Supervision and will be assisting ACC Victoria pastors to engage in this area.
